My Wedding Party

It was a very heavy snow in Colorado, On Monday night, but that night was our wedding dinner party so we had to go.  We had to drove about 1 hours from my house because of the road condition, usually it’s take 30 minutes to got the place.  We choosen Monday night for the wedding party  because we want to got merried on 07 January 2008, the same date for the first time I met my husband on 07 January 2007 and the date when he asked me to marry him on our engagement party on 07 April 2007.

Our wedding Party was held on Monday, January 07, 2008 at the Italian Restaurant call “La Dolce Vita” at Castle Pine, Colorado.  It wasn’t big party because my husband originally from Germany and I came from Indonesia so we don’t have a lot of friends.  We decided have a small party but unforgetable in a rest of our life.  Guests in The party was just my husband’s Mom who flew from Stuttgart Germany for our wedding, my husband’s brother and family who live in Fort Collins Colorado and my husband’s close friends from work.

From my side I didn’t had any body because, my Mom scare to flight far away and my brother had no time off from work, and I didn’t had friends in Colorado because all of my friends was lived in Toronto and other city in Canada.  Where I lived for 3 years before moved to Colorado.

In our wedding we had an Italian singer who has a nice voice and beautiful face.  She sang a lot of song for us and she let the guests to request song.  About 15 minuts in our party my brother in law played the German Song from Peter Maffay “DU” mean you, that’s the only German song that I like and I knew,  It was surprised.

Then we continue chatting and eating while the singer kept sang to entertain us.  After 30 minutes from German song I heard the Indonesian song that I didn’t even know my husband brought from home.  The song was our song because when we were still engage I love to heard this song and we dance in the living room at my apartment in Toronto.  The song title “Cintamu” mean your love from Dygta, the other surprised.  And it was my happiest moment in my life even in the other side I was sad because my family didn’t come.

Me and my husband just asked bless from  my Mom and my family by phone, and they were happy for us even they can’t came for the wedding dinner party.  My Mom also held a small party (syukuran/selamatan in Javanese) in my village for my wedding, even I wasn’t there.

To make the marriage complete, my Mom plan to renew the wedding in our first anniversary next years in my village.
